PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The Let’s plant peace project is an idea from the South Korean International Youth Peace Group (IPYG) group who wanted to work with Rotakids Club Alba Iulia as the first project in this partnership.

The project is structured in two stages:

  • The first step is to visit the representatives of the IPYG organization in Romania, where IPYG talked about peace with members of the Rotakids Club Alba Iulia. At the same visit, the volunteers will make drawings about peace, which will be exhibited in Târgu Mureş at an exhibition organized by IPYG
  • The second stage is the planting of flower signatures in the city of Alba Iulia, seeds representing hope for a world without war, and just like a flower, peace is achieved through continuous efforts and interests.

PURPOSE OF THE PROJECT: The aim of the project is to teach children from a young age the importance of living in a world without war, but also to spread the culture of peace with other people.

First stage – March 10, 2018; The second stage – May 12, 2018

  • New collaboration with the Seoul organization
  • To show children the feeling of peace
  • Team work
  • Exchange of experience between the two cultures

At the meeting on March 10, 2018, club members enjoyed the presence of IPYG coordinators in Romania. They talked about world peace, about the importance of living in a world without wars and violence. Yesterday the club’s winners made the first stage of the project: Let’s plant peace, where they made drawings with their vision of stopping war and conflicts in the world. The drawings will be exhibited at the exhibition organized by IPYG in May in Targu Mures.
